Baa-baa! black  sheep, 

have you any wool?

Yes three bags full.

One for my master,

one for my dame, 

And  one for the little boy that lives in the lane.

Baa-baa! black sheep,

 give some wool to me?

 Yes sir, yes sir, willingly.

I'll for never miss it,

 wool given for you,

 For I've coats a plety for  you and me too.

Simple Simon

Simple Simon One child is chosen for the Pieman and the other for Simple The rest may join hands in circle formation or if they are too they may stand at one side and keep time to the music by hands softly while singing to tune of Coming Through the Rye 

Simple Simon met a pieman 

coming from the fair; 
Said Simple Siman to the pieman. 

"Let me taste your ware." 

Said the pieman to Simple Simon, 

"Show me first your penny." 

Said Simple Simon to the pieman 

"Indeed I haven't any."

Simple Simon went a -fishing 

For to catch a whale; 

All the water he had got 

Was in his mother's pail.

Simple Simon went to look 

If plums grew on a thistle. 

 He pricked his fingers very much 

Which made poor Simon whistle.

The two players start out and walk in opposite directions around the circle. When they meet at the words "Said Simple Simon to the pieman"the child representing the former, sings his lines and panto mimes the action.s When the pieman sings "Show me first your  penny"penny Simple Simon responds shaking his head sorrowfully. Indeed I haven t any. Whereupon they both bow and skip in opposite directions around the circle and together sing Tra la la la la la la la tra la la la la finishing the refrain Simple Simon then becomes the pieman and selects another player for his part

Hippity hop to the barber shop
To buy a stick of candy, 

One for you and one for me,

And one for sis ter Annie.

Motions

Formation Double circle partners clasping hands and facing in line of direction  

Hippity hop to the barber shop 

To buy a stick of candy 

Hippy hop to the barber shop 

To buy a stick of candy 

Hippity hop- forward beginning with right foot and swinging clasped hands backward and forward with each step 

Repeat 

One for you 

Face partner. Claphands and stretch arms toward partner waist high with palms facing upward

and one for me 

Clap hands and place tips of fin gers on own chest 

and one for sister Annie 

Clasp right hands and hippity hop in circle around to left and on to the next partner to the right 

The changing of partners is too difficult for children at this stage of the course and should be given at some later date Instead the partners may circle in place without the change

And all 4 the king's men 

Couldn't 5 put Humpty Dumpty together again 

Motions

1 Children sit on desks 

2 Children fall to floor 

3 4 Shake head slowly back and forth 

5 Jump up quickly and into correct standing position 

NOTE 

Care should be taken to have all motions carried out strictly in unison.

 At the word sat for instance, all children should sit on the desks 

Do not let any of them perform the motions before or after the exact moment, in which it should be performed

(For Memorial Day)

Over here our hearts were waiting 
For the tidings glad, of peace. 

Just to hear of warfare ended, 

Causing enmity to cease. 

Over here ,what joy o'er flowing, 

From our hearts in deep delight, 

When the victory we d longed for 

Came in glorious, shining might! 

Over here we all united 

In a heartfelt, thankful prayer, 

Praising God on High, Who helped us 

Gain our victory over there. 

Over here the people grieving 

For their boys in battle lost 

Knew in gaining world-war victory 

They had helped to pay the cost. 

Through the world may the Peace Angel 

Ever rule in soul of man, 

Blessing us, and all the nations 

As no other power can.

Here bring your purple and gold, 
Glory of color and scent! 

Scarlet of tulips bold, 

Buds blue as the firmament. 

Hushed is the sound of the fife 

And the bugle piping clear; 

The vivid and delicate life 

In the soul of the youthful year. 

We bring to the quiet dead 

A gentle and tempered grief; 

O'er the mounds so mute we shed 

The beauty of blossom and leaf. 

Rich fires of the gardens and meads, 

We kindle these hearts above! 

What splendor shall match their deeds? 

What sweetness can match our love? 

The History Of The Decoration Day

General John A Logan, commander in chief of the Grand Army of the Republic, in 1868 designated the thirtieth day of May as the day on which the graves of dead Union soldiers should be decorated, and this date is now universally observed throughout the Northern states.
